Stingray City

This is the catamaran that took us out to the sandbar where the stingrays live.

It is believed that by kissing a female stingray, it brings 7 years good luck. 14 years for kissing a male. The sting ray pictured is a female. They are the bigger than the males, and not as shy. This one was about 4 ft across, probably 100lbs. They were amazing! Once in the water, the stingrays were just like cats, rubbing against our legs and begging for attention. We fed them morsels of squid, and they would suck it right out of our hand. I guess if your leg smelled extra yummy, they can leave quite the mark (use your imagination...)

Of our whole trip, this was tied for my favorite part. (the other one was snorkeling in Honduras at the coral reef)
